Overview
Comprehensive data on colorectal cancer (CRC) are crucial for generating real-world evidence on comparative effectiveness, unmet needs, and safety, however, many existing sources often lack clinical detail on biomarkers, oral therapies, and progression. This study introduces a comprehensive dataset from the Germany Flatiron Health Research Database, which captures detailed clinical information on CRC patients.
By analyzing data from 1,025 patients diagnosed with CRC, the study provides insights into biomarker testing, treatment patterns, and disease progression. The dataset includes a high level of detail, such as pathological stages and biomarker testing rates, which align with clinical guidelines.
Why this matters
This research fills critical gaps in existing CRC data by offering a detailed view of real-world treatment and outcomes in Germany. The ability to harmonize this dataset with international counterparts from the US, UK, and Japan allows for a global perspective on CRC management. Such comprehensive data supports the development of personalized treatment strategies and highlights areas for improvement in clinical practice and paves the way for more effective interventions worldwide.
